GuardianSat Solution: Case for Space Domain Awareness

Huey D. Wyche II Jan, 2023

Abstract

The expansion of space operations is a crucial activity for the advancement of humanity. With the introduction of the private space industries, space operations have grown exponentially. The identified in this paper will be defined by reviewing the various methods that propagated the accumulation of orbital debris and its history. Additionally, there are serious safety concerns with unchecked propagation and accumulation of debris. This will be illustrated by a review of significant impact events. Moreover, risk management methods are needed to avoid satellite mission failures due to impact with orbital debris. If nothing is solved, the world may be surrounded by trash and humanity may be required to halt orbital activities                  (Kessler & Cour-Palais, 1978, p. 2645). The primary goal of this paper is to demonstrate how the GuardianSat Solution will significantly improve space domain awareness, avoid satellite collision with orbital debris and repel hostile attack on satellites utilizing proprietary technologies. Also, this analysis will review the historical incidents and damage caused by space debris and provide an evaluation of the shortfalls of current technologies and techniques for space domain awareness. As humans continue to reach beyond the sky, we need to ensure a pathway remains open for future generations.                                   Request the full white paper.
